About My Photography

Although I have loved taking pictures, I really fell in love with photography in the fall of 2004 when I took a black and white darkroom course. Since then I have rarely been seen without a camera in my hands (during off-hours). I started this photoblog to continue learning about photography, and I have learned a ton from this community. I still think there is a lot to learn, and I appreciate any comments or criticism you can offer. In fact, the more critical the better - that is the fastest way to learn. I may disagree with you since photography is highly subjective, but I will not be offended.

During this time I have transitioned from black and white film (nikon N75) to digital point-and-shoot (fujifilm 3800), to slr-like digital (lumix fz20), and now I shoot pretty much exclusively digital slr (nikon D50). About a year ago, I started dabbling in stock photography (you can follow links to my various galleries from my main page if you are so inclined). Stock photography earnings bought me my D50 and several lenses, and for a while I became overly obssessed with stock photography and lost sight of why I was doing photography in the first place. Now, I am trying to find a balance between shooting stock that I enjoy while continuing to develop photography as a hobby, which this blog reminds me to do.
