Nikon N75

Thank you all for your comments on the previous images. (also thank you for voting for me on PhotoFriday!)

I decided to be brave and post a photo I am uncertain of. Also I realized I have not posted any people pictures!

This was a hand developed and printed photo - but there were some problems with underdeveloping the film (I think) so all the prints were very dark. This is a scanned photo, which I've adjusted in PS, which was originally printed 2 f-stops lighter than the contact sheet. I'd appreciate any comments or critiques you have about this photo. Thanks!

Hi -- The tones here are kind of muddy, and although the picture is very low-key, it has a bit of a flat feeling to it. There also seems to be some streaking caused by uneven development of the print. Was the developer fresh, and did you give the print the full development time (they need at least 60 seconds at room temperature)? It's generally best to err on the side of overexposure for your negatives (and develop conservatively) and to err on the side of overdevelopment with your prints (and expose conservatively). If you need any tips, send me an e-mail...

I thought this image had a cool nostalgic quality. But I'm finding this darker than I can remember any of your prints being, and I can't see anything but shadow on her face. Actually, I think I've noticed this with most of the b&w's you've scanned in (and I've looked at your blog from more than one monitor). I wonder if you shouldn't try adjusting the levels from another monitor?
