![]() ![]() The staircase in the 8 story International House on the University of Chicago campus. I took the first shot from the top looking down, and the second shot from the bottom looking up. I also played with the curves a bit, especially in 'Down', to get the very contrasty look. Posted by Gaja at April 22, 2005 11:33 PM © All images are copyrighted. Posted by: suzen at June 23, 2005 12:15 AM wow, great repetition and perspective in both of these. the b&w is perfect. i like the high contrast and gritty texture of the top one best. Posted by: zerosun at April 29, 2005 12:21 AM I like the first one. It looks like a unique image multiplied many times, and each time scaled bigger (hehe, I'm sure english speakers have a better expression for that), and the lines and texture of the steps. Oh, and the black rectangle at the bottom looks very misterious, sí señor... Posted by: Diego at April 28, 2005 11:20 PM I love these two shots, they remind me of those optical illusion books. Lovely composition. And thank you for the kind comments on my blog. Posted by: GKP at April 27, 2005 11:28 AM I like what you see :) Posted by: pierre at April 26, 2005 3:22 PM the first one looks like it's in some old building and the second in a new one. nice contrast, nice shots. Posted by: suseu at April 26, 2005 3:07 PM This is absolutely gorgeous. Nice angles and patterns. Love it Posted by: Califfoto at April 25, 2005 11:29 PM Awesome shots. I particularly like the first. You've captured some great lighting that makes it different from the more typical shot. Posted by: Ted at April 25, 2005 11:22 AM Like matt and animoid, Escher immediately came to mind when I saw the 'down' image - I really like the contrast adjustments there as well. Posted by: Turfdigger at April 24, 2005 1:09 AM Really great framing in "down!" I'm getting vertigo just looking at it. Posted by: chiaroscuro at April 24, 2005 1:01 AM The first one is amazing! You should submit this to Better Photo if you haven't already. Posted by: VISUAL FIELD at April 23, 2005 11:55 PM I like both, but I prefer the "down", for the way the spiral is more centered in the frame, and for the richness in textures. The high contrast works well here. Posted by: Massimo at April 23, 2005 11:51 AM That top shot is just spectacular...reminds me of an M. C. Escher print. The processing in b&w really appeals to me. Great shot. Posted by: matt at April 23, 2005 10:58 AM Looks like a staircase where you could film a movie chase...I especially like the first one, feels a bit like a M.C. Escher drawing, but without the confusion. Posted by: animoid at April 23, 2005 8:03 AM impressive lines and angles. Posted by: maya at April 23, 2005 1:37 AM Beautiful lines and angles in these, and nice contrast! Great shots! Posted by: Lara Barrett at April 23, 2005 12:19 AM Post a comment |
