These were taken in the same are as the previous pastures photos. I converted all three to black and white using channel mixer, with a negative amount of blue channel, and highest on the red channel.

Quite rich - super IR effect with the channel mixer!

Excellent job on the conversions. My favorite is #2 as well. The mixture of the foreground against the black sky is striking.

Great technique. The tones in these are perfection!

Great set of black and white photos, but out of the set I love the last photo the most. I feel like running down the field and trying to reach for the clouds.

Your pictures are excellent - sharp, contrasty and moody. Great work!

#2 is my favourite... the focus on the wheat is amazing. Great work.

Oh, I forgot to say that these would look lovely over a dark background! :)

Posted by: Paulo Ribeiro at June 4, 2005 04:42 AM

Oh my, the three of them are absolutely gorgeus! The conversion to black and white was splendidly done. I love those dark black and white skies.

My favourite of the three is the middle one because of the detail of the wheat grains. The composition would be perfect if you had followed the "rule of thirds" (the sky would occupy the first third of the frame, the trees the middle one and the wheat the bottom).

beautiful shot - wonderful perspective! absolutely stunning!

Number 3 is my favorite. For some reason, it sucks me into the photo. All of them are really nice, though.

Great result !!!

Cool shots! They almost look like infra-red shots. (I think that's the term for it.) :)
