Wow, everyone's comments yesterday are making me consider dropping at least red meat even more than before. I'm really not trying to say anything by posting this photo next; it's simply the next in line. This is a mexican wolf at the National Zoo in DC. I think wolves are one of my favorite creatures, if not favorite. I think I can safely say that without dissing my Ginger since dogs and wolves are basically the same species and can interbreed (isn't that really cool?). Wolf-dog hybrids are apparently growing in popularity as pets, but at the same time, many people don't understand these animals, which are wild animals, and expect them to be just like dogs. Inapproprite handling of hybrids by humans leads to accidents and deaths which then give the wolf a bad reputation. Anyway, if you want to read more look here. aren't they cute?

Beautiful wolf! The fur is so nice! Sometimes they look just like dog to me, which is equally cute. Wolf-Dog hybrids are popular in my country too.

Wolves really are magical creatures. They are mysterious and regal animals. I'm a dog lover, so I'd have to say the wolf is probably my favorite animal.

Wolves are fantastic creatures, for sure. Good choice of the B&W here, I find the details in the fur are amazing.

Great timing to see his tung in the water.

Wonderful! Great timing on the wolf's tongue. The tonality of this image is gorgeous, and the contrasting textures (the fur, the water, the rocks) makes for a really interesting image.

Gorgeous! Wolves really are fascinating... A friend of mine's parents have a wolf hybrid named Sheba who's a real beauty and sweet as can be!
