Travelogue I (Roadside Landscapes)

« Star Burst | Main | Travelogue II (A Polish Christmas) »

I'm back! At least for now, and this entry is the first in a series of entries that will motivate me to revitalize this neglected photoblog. At least that's the plan. I've been away from home all but a few days in the past month and a half, traveling all over the place. Needless to say, I've taken a lot of photos during my travels, which (because the vast majority of them are not at all appropriate for stock photography) would end up just sitting on my harddrive, unshared and unappreciated. But this new plan of mine will change all that and, at the same time, help me remember why I started a photoblog in the first place!

So what is this brilliant plan? Well, I'm going to post photos from my travels! ;-) Now, this may seem like an obvious solution to you, but for some reason it didn't sound at all enticing to me until I realized that I could post the photos in order... chronological order, that is, kind of like a diary of my travels. And this ingenius insight somehow got me all excited about posting to my photoblog again. I'm not really sure yet why that is, but I'll keep thinking and maybe I'll figure it out before I finish my travelogue.

What exciting, exotic places and events can you expect to see documented here in the coming days? Well, I'm not going to lie to you, some of the events and places are not exotic or exciting, but I will post photos of them anyway. Why? Because it's my photoblog ;-) But seriously, I want to document my travels and experiences, which may be inherently interesting only to my friends and family (and myself), but hopefully the images themselves will be positively received by a wider audience. So in all seriousness, the places coming up in this travelogue include: St. Louis area, Albuquerque, Boston, Budapest, Lodz, Gdansk, and Warsaw. I think that's all for now. See below for a description of these images.

The photos above were taken on December 22, 2005 during our road trip from Baltimore to St. Louis. The drive takes about 16 hours so that's a lot of pictures taken from the passenger's side of a moving vehicle. These were my four favorite shots.

Welcome back! I can't wait to see more about your travels. These are great and I especially like the top two.
