Travelogue VII (Santa Fe)

Photos from downtown Santa Fe, a very cool cultural district, with giant, awesome owls, and an abundance of art galleries with beautiful jewelery and pottery.

I couldn't believe this beautiful owl was just sitting in a tree in the middle of the city. I think it was about 2 feet tall, and I took a bunch of pictures, but it was hard getting a good shot through the branches in near-dark. Her eyes are obviously not really like that, the flash made them look yellow and red. I didn't want to correct it because it seemed like cheating, and I didn't know what color they should actually be anyway.

The following is just a shot of one of the streets; I'm not sure it's very successful, but I think it does convey some of the character of the architecture in the area.

Wow such devilish eyes! Glad you didn't retouch them... maybe the flash discovered its true nature? ;-)

What an interesting mix of images. All have such disparate moods. Neat work.

Three different and excellent images! Love the eyes on the owl, glad you left them as is.
