I thought it was pretty cold in Budapest when we walked around in the freezing weather at night, taking pictures. Then we flew to Poland. Of course it had to be the coldest winter in years when we decided to visit. Last time we visited, my husband's first time in Poland, it was also January, and it was the worst snow storm in years. This time, it was minus 20 at midday. He now thinks of Poland and as a dark, freezing, inhospital land, which is of course not true. I just don't know when we'll have a chance to visit in warmer weather... But for now, here are my favorite scenes from a wintery Poland. The first city we visited was Lodz, a two-hour train ride from Warsaw, and the city that my father grew up in. We were only there one afternoon, and the only decent photo I managed to take was the following. We did get to tour around with my dad and his brother, seeing various locations from their childhood. ![]() Posted by Gaja at April 4, 2006 10:59 PM © All images are copyrighted.
