Travelogue XIV (Warsaw)

« Travelogue XIII (Sopot) | Main | Texture & Line Study »

This is the last entry of the travelogue, and I'll be ending with a few pictures of the old town in Warsaw. Although Warsaw was founded in the 12th century, during WWII the old town (as well as the rest of Warsaw) was completely destroyed. Following the war the old town was rebuilt brick by brick; only the remains of the city walls are original. You can see some of these walls in the first two pictures, which show the royal palace. The third photo shows the architecture in more detail, along one of quaint, narrow streets of the old town.

I love these quaint little streets... and the colors of the houses, each one with its own peculiar personality.
