Thanks everyone for your in-depth critical responses - I really appreciate them. Based on the comments I got on the previous image, I chose a different image from the same series and processed it differently. I wonder whether you think this one is more or less successful? Now that I look at them side-by-side, I realize why I chose the first one in the first place, and why I processed it the way I did. I still think it looks "flat" (and the second one less so), but I like the lightness and brightness of it, and I like how simple and uncluttered it is. Well, but I'm curious what you think. Update: I decided the light rocks at the top were very distracting and I cropped them out of the original ![]() Posted by Gaja at May 15, 2006 01:00 PM © All images are copyrighted. What a difference! Posted by: luminouslens at May 18, 2006 12:16 AM Hm, I sat on this for a while, trying to think about which one I liked and why. I think that I like the first one you posted better. Even though this does have more contrast and a darker frame, it's not as "lovely". I also just like the framing of the first one better. :) Posted by: luminouslens at May 17, 2006 09:20 PM Colours and tones are much better this time in my opinion. Now, you are in need of something more in the composition / perspective part... something more interesting! This one looks too typical to my eyes, too "centered".
